I'm A Winner!

When Shelly Pagliai notified me that she had drawn my name for her new book "A Simple Life", I was thrilled. For the last few years Shelly has written a blog about daily entries in her mother's diary written in the 1950's. I had followed it and really got a kick out of it, being a child of the '50's myself, I could relate to many of the things her mother, Hazel Ilene wrote about. The book has some really nice quilt patterns in it, along with some of the diary entries and lots of family pictures.

Shelly also has a web site that I think you would enjoy looking at. It's called Prairie Moon Quilts, there are lots of good things there and I know you will love checking it out. Be sure and check out Hazel Ilene's Diary, recipes, free patterns and even shopping at her Etsy shop!! I'll talk to you later, I am going to push back in the recliner and read more of my new quilt book from Shelly.  Sew until next time, have a Stitches kind of day!!

I Won A Giveaway From Pam Buda

Yippee!!! I won these really good scissors from a Pam Buda giveaway a couple of weeks ago. They came in the mail yesterday and I was thrilled to see that they are the Medium size of Karen Kay Buckley's "Perfect Scissors"..I really like KKB scissors, they have a micro serrated edge on the blades, that really hug the fabric and best of all, are the nice big handles...you should try a pair!!!  .Heartspun Quilts is Pam Buda's company..she designs quilts and also designs fabric's for Marcus Fabrics..I really like her style of quilts and fabrics, sort of "folksy" and that's my favorite style also. Check out her website and see if you don't like her too!!!  Thanks again, Pam...Sew until next time, I hope you have a Stitches kind of day...........

Another New Book to Show & Share

I have another new book to show.  I won this book through the Quilting Gallery in December so I'm a little tardy in telling about it.  I got an email from Victoria Findlay Wolfe telling me I had won a copy of her book and to send my mailing address to her so she could send me a copy.  Once again I was very surprised about winning but very, very pleased too. The book arrived and I have devoured it (figuratively speaking) and have enjoyed dreaming about quilts I could make to bust my fabric stash..hopefully 2013 will be the year to do that. It is so neat to win a book like this and I appreciated it a lot and plan to share it will my quilting buddies. Thanks again to Victoria and Quilting Gallery, now I better go check out my stash....sew until next time, have a Stitches kind of day...............

I'm A Recent Winner-2X's

I am quite tardy in telling about my 2 recent wins....Me, who never thought I ever was very lucky, how can this be??  The first win was the new 100 Blocks magazine from Hyacinth Quilt Designs..The first name she drew had already won on another blog, so I was the 2nd name drawn. I don't mind being in 2nd place at all. There are some really, really nice quilt blocks in the issue, I can't wait to give some of them a try.  Thanks so much for drawing my name..   The second win was from the Stash Books blog.  We had a hard time connecting and I was afraid that I was not going to get the prize, which was the Sweet Celebrations book with Moda Bake Shop Chefs. It is a very nice book with several nice quilts that anyone could make. When the book came, I got another surprise. Included in the package was a Layer Cake of French General La Belle Fleur, that was like the icing on the cake!!  :-)  How sweet it is!!!  It is so much fun to win prizes, isn't it???  Thank you again for drawing my name on these 2 blogs, I really appreciate everything that I won!!!

Check Out My Winnings!!

On October 11, I got an email from Marsha at the Quilter In Motion blog and she told me that I had won her give away from the "Leafs Me Happy" blog hop drawing..I was thrilled and happy about my news.  It is always a fun and happy time when you win something and it doesn't happen to me very often.  I got the "prize" about a week later, just about the time I got a nasty bug.  Cough, cough, drip, blow, drip, drip, cough and blow some more!!!  I felt so rotten for several days and didn't even leave the house for 5 days.  I'm sorry to report that I'm still not over it completely but I wanted to get a post written about my win and the fabric that I won.  It's all  fun fabric, the camper fabric will make a cute border on a couple of towels for my camper daughter and family. I know she will love them.

This Fall piece will make some nice greeting cards, I think..Fusible web on the back, iron them to a blank card front and you have a nice card to send..
