I went cruising through the Antique Mall last week, just looking, of course! Then I found a couple (3) things that had to come home with me...Now as I look back, I think I bought myself an early birthday present, how does that sound? It works for me..I saw this gorgeous footed cake plate and it jumped into my hands so I petted it and brought it home. It has a "lace edge" on it and when it's upright you can see the hole in the middle of it. I really don't know why it's there so if anyone has a clue about that, could you let me know. All I can think to use it for, is maybe a candle??
When it's turned upside down, I think it could be used as a serving piece and then the stem could hold some sauce. Maybe like shrimp and sauce? I don't know, I'm just thinking, I guess.
Then I purchased these candlesticks,,,they are just so pretty. I love the bottoms and think they will be a good press for my sugar cookies, I must try that real soon!!
See the hole, it's pretty good size.. |

You could use the cake stand for flowers too. Love your beautiful "finds".
ReplyDeleteWonderful finds. I have four cake stands and none have the hole in the center.
ReplyDeleteYou have more options with yours! How fun!
I did a little research and found that the hole in the center of the cake plate is called a rum well. Still don't know how a person would use the rum well actually, maybe more research is needed. Hmmm
DeleteI love the 'alternate' uses for your lovely new items. When will the sugar cookies be ready to eat?????
