Cow Stampede at AQS-Des Moines

hmmmm. I think this was a great challenge..Mary Lou Weidman challenged her students to step out of their box and boy, did they ever. This was a special exhibit at the AQS/Des Moines Quilt Show, I think it looked like a whole lot of fun...Enjoy!!

Siouxland Samplers Quilt Show-2013

     "Catch The Bug" was the theme for this years show in Sioux City, Iowa. The Siouxland Samplers Quilt show is always a nice show and I don't like to miss it. I really think it is one of the best shows in my area. I don't belong to their guild but I wish I was closer and I would join but it is just too far to drive to be convenient..but I have made a slideshow so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy..

This guild always has the neatest ribbons for the winners. They are handmade, different designs for each show and very attractive. This year each ribbon had a little Lady Bug button and a larger Lady Bug pin. Each ribbon had both Lady Bugs on them but when the owner of a winning quilt came, she/he would take the larger pin off and pin it to their shirt. Sometimes you would see someone with 2 or 3 large bugs on her shoulder..that way you would know she/he was a winner. It is just a nice concept and a way to recognize the quilters.
