A Laughing Matter!! ;-) ;-0 !!

I don't know if I can write and get this across to you or not but I will try...Today I was at my DD house (she had back surgery a couple of weeks ago) planting some flowers for her and my 23 year old grandson was digging up the dirt a head of me so I could get the flowers in. Well, my "beloved" (and I truly mean it) SIL was afraid the GS was going to hit a sprinkler head so he decided to turn the sprinklers on to mark the heads.  BUT I was sitting on the ground and just happened to be in the line of fire (water) when it came on. Needless, to say, I got wet. I'm yelling at my SIL, Mike, Mike!! I tried to lay low to the ground, hoping the water would go over me, duh!!! That didn't work so I rolled over (picture this in your mind) to get up on my knees and got blasted from the back and when I got up, I sort of got it from the front. My glasses were completely covered in drops and everyone was laughing so much they were crying. I thought my DD was going to undo her back surgery, she was laughing so hard. It was not a pretty scene, just wish someone had recorded it so we could have sent it in to America's Funniest Videos..I'm still laughing when I think about it and it will be something that comes up in conversation in our family for a long time, I'm afraid..It was an eventful afternoon to say the least!!! I had a "Stitches" kind of day for sure!!! sew until next time..keep dry!!!

  2. I can just picture it...reminds me of last spring when I had two neighbor boys helping me clean out my flower beds. I was on my knees getting some dead leaves out of my rhubarb when a Garder snake came slithering out towards me. They are small but I don't like snakes of any kind or size. I back pedaled as fast as I could, rolling over to get away and screaming all at the same time. The boys were so good about not laughing too hard and caught the snake and took it way south of my buildings so I wouldn't see it again in my garden. I laughed after I got over my fright but I can image how they laughed later at the sight of me crawling backwards and rolling to get away from the snake. Good thing we can laugh at ourselves...sometimes the funnies people we know!

  3. How funny! Its a good thing they did not make a video, you would be a star on Youtube! One year, my husband was working on our sprinkler system and our 9 year old son wanted to help. My husband had his face close to a sprikler to look at the inside of it. Meanwhile, our 9 year was playing with the buttons of the system control and the sprikler shot mud right into my husbands face. Our son is a grown man now, but we always laugh together when we see someone working on sprinklers!

  4. Ahh, sounds like a fun day. In the heat of today, I would think the sprinklers would be welcome. LOL

  6. You have me laughing - I CAN picture it. I would have trouble getting up off the ground these days. From now on, before you start any project with your dear SIL you are allowed to ask if he will be testing any systems and could he please do it before you are in the midst.
