I had planned to start dead-heading my coneflowers today since they are almost faded out and not very attractive anymore....but then I looked out and a Goldfinch was enjoying breakfast on coneflower seeds so I have decided to wait for a few more days..and then maybe I'll just cut the most faded ones. My pictures aren't the best but they were taken through the screen and the window both and it was the best I could do..Sew until next time....have a Stitches kind of day..
It is always a thrill to see the birds feeding in the garden! Goldfinches are so pretty! Have a lovely weekend! Christine x
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have done the dead heading either - lovely photos, the Goldfinch is a gorgeous looking bird, we don't get them here.
ReplyDeleteI deadheaded mine about a week ago. They were completely dried up I hope I get a few more flowers before we head into fall. We had some very hot dry summer days and it really took it's toll on the coneflowers and hydrangea bushes.
ReplyDeleteHi I happened by your blog looking at tree stumps turned into fairie homes and wondered if you ever finished yours?
ReplyDeleteThe rabbits ate my coneflowers, so I've got none to worry about this year. The goldfinch is beautiful!
