I've Been Holding Out

Last August, I subscribed to a new Block of the Month..I had a guilty conscience doing it and it took several days to talk myself into it because I have "several" BOM's stored in containers that I haven't even touched, most a few years old..but this new BOM was wool applique and I had not done any wool applique.  So that was my persuasion to myself to order it. The pattern is How Does Your Garden Grow by Norma Whaley and my monthly blocks come from Primitive Gatherings Quilt Shop. I have been 95% satisfied with the fabrics they send and have only replaced a couple of them. Sometimes it's scary to do this as it can get quite expensive but I had very little wool so I thought it was the wise way to go..  I decided to do a little beading on them so here are the first 4 blocks that I have done.  They have been a lot of fun to do.  I have all of the blocks finished, just haven't done the embellishment on the rest yet.

I'm linking up with Super Mom-No Cape's Vintage Embroidery link, so hop on over there and check out the rest of the links...there are some pretty cool ones!!  Sew until next time, I hope you have a Stitches kind of day....

  2. These are lovely! I sometimes do that - don't tell anyone I've started something new until I come to grips with it myself!

  4. These are gorgeous! I can understand about the deliberations over another project but why not when it is a new technique with beautiful wool!

  5. These are just so sweet!! A BOM sounds like a good way to go when you want to try something new and don't necessarily have a lot of the fabrics/supplies needed.

Thanks for linking up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and for linking back to help get the word out. Little by little the link party is growing each week.
