My Quilted Village

I finally finished my Quilted Village over a month ago...and I want to share it with you. . My sister, Judy, quilted it for me and I think it is pretty awesome how she quilted it. She used 2 batts in it, a cotton medium weight and then put a wool batt on top of the cotton one. It is pretty stiff but that's just how I wanted it so it would hang nicely on the wall. I am going to enter it in our county fair next week and I am hoping it will win a ribbon for her machine quilting. I did this as a BOM from a quilt shop and used most of the fabric that they sent me. However, I always have to substitute a few that I don't care for.. I did invisible machine applique on all of the houses but hand embroidered the trees and birds.  I have been working on this for several years so it's a good feeling to have it done.  I hope you like it as much as I do. Sew until next time, have a "Stitches" kind of day..........

I love this quilt!!!

  6. Sandy, it's extraordinary! You did a super job, and your sister really accentuated all of your work! You should put it in the state fair next year. Would you consider letting me hang it in the Applefest Quilt show at the end of September? I promise to stand guard over it

  11. Wow, Sandy! I've loved this pattern ever since I first saw it on the cover of a Quilters Newsletter Magazine quite a few years ago, but I've never seen it anywhere else. You've done a superb job of piecing it together and appliquéing the buildings, and your sister's quilting just sets it off beautifully. What a talented pair you are!
