Happy Halloweeeeeeeeeen!!

I need to get geared up for all the little Goblins that I am expecting tonight. Since the weather is pretty nice, I know I will have around 175 come to the door. I just wanted to show you a few of my decorations before the day is over. Below is the little "Fascinator" that 4 of us made a week ago to wear to our quilt guild meeting that night. We were a little crazy but it was a lot of fun and others really liked it. I love my spider web tablecloth that I picked up at Marshall's too.

My village that I got new this year,,,it was a little extravagant for me but sometimes you just gotta do it!! And I did it!!! Not sorry either..

This is a postcard from my Grandmother's post card album, the only one that she had that pertained to Halloween. It was sent to her in 1910 with a 1-cent stamp on it.. Pretty neat, I think...Sew until next time, have a Stitches kind of day and a fun Halloween.....

Some Great Finds?

Last Thursday, I took my Great Pumpkin quilt to the machine quilter, YEAH!!  I'm so excited to get it back and the binding on it and hung on my wall for Fall. Sadly, the Halloween quilt that I have been working on just didn't get done this year.  :-((   But Nancy, the machine quilter, was getting ready for a garage sale over the weekend. She and about 4 friends decided to clean out some of their hoarded treasured possessions. There were just a few items that I couldn't pass up and since she said she would do a "pre-sale", I came home with  a few goodies..I think the duck bowl and ladle are so cute and I can see a lovely African Violet in the basket too.
The rest of the 'stuff' is going to my youngest daughter.  Her last name is Henn so therefore she likes hens, not roosters, but hens!! I thought this cute little napkin holder Barred Rock (I think, let me know if I'm wrong) Hen would be a nice addition to her kitchen.
She also collects old tins. These are miniature tins and I couldn't resist them either. They have never been opened and at this point, I doubt they ever will be. The coffee says it will make 6 cups and the Buttercup Sweet Scotch Snuff, eeeh, I can't imagine what that would smell like after lots of years. I think she will really like these and will be disappointed if she doesn't...
I put a coffee mug beside the tins so you can see how small they are...Do you like my goodies? All for only $9.75, I think I did good!!!  Thanks for looking, Sew until next time, have a Stitches kind of day.......

Check Out My Winnings!!

On October 11, I got an email from Marsha at the Quilter In Motion blog and she told me that I had won her give away from the "Leafs Me Happy" blog hop drawing..I was thrilled and happy about my news.  It is always a fun and happy time when you win something and it doesn't happen to me very often.  I got the "prize" about a week later, just about the time I got a nasty bug.  Cough, cough, drip, blow, drip, drip, cough and blow some more!!!  I felt so rotten for several days and didn't even leave the house for 5 days.  I'm sorry to report that I'm still not over it completely but I wanted to get a post written about my win and the fabric that I won.  It's all  fun fabric, the camper fabric will make a cute border on a couple of towels for my camper daughter and family. I know she will love them.

This Fall piece will make some nice greeting cards, I think..Fusible web on the back, iron them to a blank card front and you have a nice card to send..

Thanks for the Liebster Award, Natalie!!

Yesterday, I had a big smile on my face when I got a message from sweet Natalie from Russia that she had awarded me the Liebster Award..  I must live in a hole someplace as I had never heard of it but I was excited to get it.   I guess it's been going around for quite sometime now.  So here is a brief description of the "simple rules" that I am going to follow today.

Here are the simple rules for the award:
1. Post about your win on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented you with the award and follow their blog (if you don't already!).
3. Copy and paste the award button to your blog (you can right-click on the Liebster label from my page, save it to your computer, then save to your blog).
4. Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs that have fewer than 200 followers that you think deserve to be recognized.
5. Let them know by leaving them a comment on their blog.
6. Please share 5 random facts about yourself.

I'm giving the Liebster Award to these five bloggers that I have enjoyed reading. Some of these I have followed for a while but some are new to me but I find them all very interesting and like to keep up with there blogs. I hope you will find time to visit their blogs too!!

3. Catherine at Potter Jotter

Thank you again, Natalie, for finding me and giving me the award..It has been fun and I have found some new friends to follow. It is just amazing to me that we can be a world apart and communicate in just a few minutes, how neat is that??  I hope if you have stuck with me this far, that you  will have a "Stitches" kind of until next time......
